Famous Ukrainian heavyweight Andriy Novitsky (12-0, 10 KOs) has won another early victory in the professional ring. The 29-year-old native of Odesa defeated 35-year-old local boxer Keith Rydell Mays Jr. (15-3, 14 KOs) by knockout at the Memorial Hall in Melrose, Massachusetts, USA, to win the vacant title.

Our compatriot started the fight cautiously, not forcing things and "fencing" with a jab. The American tried to respond, but missed two deuces in a row, flew to the corner, where Novitsky brought the fight to a knockdown.

Rydell Mays got up, only to miss a right straight again a few seconds later and fall to the canvas. The U.S. fighter was unable to get up before the referee finished the count.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, Andriy fought his last fight on June 15 at the Shelby Co Fairgrounds in Shelbyville, USA, the Ukrainian defeated Jackson dos Santos (22-16, 20 KOs) from Brazil by unanimous decision (79:70, 78:71, 79:69).

Prior to that, Novitsky scored his tenth victory in the professional ring, effectively knocking out Juan Torres (11-6-1, 4 KOs) on the undercard of the Anthony Joshua and Francis Ngannou show. USA.

On February 17, Novitsky defeated 38-year-old local boxer Bobby O'Bannon (10-7, 10 KOs) by knockout.
