The fight turned out to be super-fast

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) champion Francis Ngannou (0-1, 0KO) made a triumphant return to mixed martial arts (MMA) with his seventh consecutive MMA victory. The 38-year-old Cameroonian won the heavyweight title fight against Renan Ferreira of Brazil at the PFL Battle of the Giants show in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The fight ended in the first round. Ngannou was able to take his opponent to the ground and then score with strong punches to the head.

Commenting on his success, the champion said that he accepted the fight against Ferreira only because of his 1.5-year-old son, who died in April 2024.

"I can't think about anything but my son Kobi. I took this fight only because of him," the PFL champion said.

It should be noted that this was Ngannou's debut PFL fight. He signed a contract in May 2023, and after that he had two boxing fights.

A year ago, Ngannou lost to Tyson Fury, but during the fight he was able to send him to a sensational knockdown. On March 9, Francis lost to Anthony Joshua without a chance.
