Skoda is preparing to launch a new SUV, and newly released photos ahead of the November 6 premiere give a glimpse of the design and shapes. The Kylaq will make its debut in one of the most competitive SUV markets in the world.

With Kylaq, the Czech automaker enters the sub-4 meter segment for the first time. The Kylaq is 3.9 meters long, making it Skoda's smallest SUV yet. This SUV is built on the brand's MQB A0 IN platform. Details about the new model were revealed by Carscoops.

The base version will be equipped with a 1-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine.

Skoda has confirmed that the Kylaq will have a 2.5-meter wheelbase, while also claiming that it will be well suited for city streets and off-road driving.

Although the prototype presented by the brand is covered in a pixelated green and black film, it cannot be confused with anything other than a Skoda. The front fascia has a split light with separate LED daytime running lights. The pronounced upper grille also attracts attention, as does the lower area. Other parts of the car's exterior include fixed roof rails, rough-looking panels and a shark fin-like antenna.

The rear of the Kylaq looks sleeker than the front and doesn't have as much character. There is a small spoiler extending from the roof and taillights that look almost identical to the old Subaru Crosstrek.

All versions of the Kylaq are based on the local MQB A0 IN platform, which is used in the Skoda Kushaq, VW Taigun, Skoda Slavia and VW Virtus. Power will be provided exclusively by a 1-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine with 114 hp and 178 Nm of torque and will be transmitted to the front wheels via a six-speed manual transmission or an optional automatic transmission.

Skoda says that it has conducted more than 800,000 km of testing of the Kylaq in preparation for its local launch.
