Russian portal criticized Fury before the fight with Usyk, calling his career the personification of boxing's problems today

Usyk and Fury to fight in the ring in winter

Heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) is harming his boxing career with his behavior outside the ring, as well as his recent fights. The Gypsy King, as the Manchester native is called, constantly refuses to fight direct competitors and also enjoys the patronage of international organizations.

This opinion was expressed by the Russian portal Championship.com in its article entitled "Fury is not as great as he seems. The Gypsy King is the personification of boxing's shortcomings". Observer Yahya Hasanov noted that Tyson disrupted fights with Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) and Anthony Joshua (27-3, 24 KOs) several times, and refused to put up a single championship belt for the fight against mixed martial arts fighter Francis Ngannou (0-1, 0 KOs).

"Let's make a reservation right away that the Gypsy King is a huge talent. The speed and technique he demonstrates for his size is very impressive. However, now there are some disputes. To some extent, Fury is the personification of boxing's problems today. He managed to hold a professional fight with a former MMA fighter and not put his belt on the line. Last year, Fury was involved in the disruption of the fight for the absolute heavyweight championship with Usyk. Later, Tyson ended negotiations on the Joshua fight. Now Fury is working to the detriment of boxing. His accomplishments and greatness fade as he tarnishes his own legacy," the publication said on the eve of the February 17 fight between Fury and Usyk.
