Russia attacks Kyiv with missiles

Russia's missile attack on Kyiv in the morning of December 11 resulted in civilian casualties. The debris of the downed targets fell in several districts of the city and damaged houses, injuring four people.

The head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Serhiy Popko, provided operational information on the consequences of the enemy shelling on his Telegram channel. The occupiers probably used ballistic missiles, so the alarm was triggered after the air defense system had been activated.

According to the head of the KCMA, the fall of the wreckage of the downed targets was recorded in the Darnytsia district of the capital. As a result, windows were smashed in a residential building and residents were injured by the glass.

At the same time, it was noted that in the Holosiivsky district, smoke was observed on the roof of a residential building due to rocket debris. The State Emergency Service units arrived at the scene.

Later, Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klychko clarified that the information about smoke was not confirmed. Instead, a piece of an enemy missile also damaged an unfinished building in the Darnytsia district, causing a fire that was quickly extinguished. Another fragment fell on the lawn there, without burning, and another on the territory of a warehouse store (without fire or damage to the building).

A total of four adult residents of the Bortnychi area in the Darnytskyi district of the capital were injured . In particular, a man, born in 1992, who sustained shrapnel wounds to his lower extremities, received first aid on the spot. Three women (born in 1963, 1990 and 1992) were also injured - they had an acute stress reaction and were treated on the spot.

What the occupiers used to hit Kyiv with

A series of explosions occurred in Kyiv around 04:15 on Monday, and a few minutes later, an air raid alert was declared in the capital and Kyiv region. The Ukrainian Air Force warned of a missile threat only for this region.

Monitoring channels reported that it seemed to be an attempt by Russia to attack the capital of Ukraine with ballistic missiles, so first the air defense system was activated, and then the alarm was raised.

The Ukrainian Air Force confirmed the possibility of the aggressor using such weapons. The Ukrainian air defense system responded ahead of the missiles flying on a ballistic trajectory and shot down all eight air targets.

"According to the same scenario as exactly a month ago, on November 11, when ballistic missiles were fired towards the capital, today, December 11, at approximately 04:00, the Rash*sts launched another attack with missiles, previously ballistic missiles. The air defense forces and means hit all enemy targets. Don't forget to thank the air defense soldiers for their excellent work and the entire Defense Forces for their protection. Don't forget who protects our lives! Take care of yourself and do not neglect the air raid alerts," commented the KCMA chief.

It is possible that the aggressor country could have used the Iskander-M or Iskander-K operational and tactical complex, which have a range of at least 500 km. It could also be the S-400 anti-aircraft missile system with a launch range of about 230-250 km. Earlier it was reported that the occupiers are able to convert C-400 missiles into ballistic missiles, increasing their range.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, during a massive attack on Ukraine on December 8, air defense forces destroyed all missiles on the approach to Kyiv. None of the enemy targets reached the city, but the debris damaged private homes in several communities in the region.
