Consequences of an enemy missile attack

On Wednesday, February 7, the terrorist country of Russia attacked Kyiv with missiles. As a result of the shelling, the city suffered a partial power outage, a fire broke out due to falling debris, and there were injured and killed.

This was reported by Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klychko on his Telegram channel. He urged city residents not to ignore the air raid alerts.

"An explosion in the city. Do not leave the shelters until the alarm goes off!" he wrote.

He added that after the explosion, medics were called to the Dniprovskyi district of the capital. In addition, two high-voltage power lines in the capital were damaged by missile fragments. Some consumers on the left bank are without electricity.

"One victim in the Dniprovskyi district of the capital was treated on the spot," the mayor said.

Later, DTEK reported that some residents in the Dniprovskyi district of Kyiv were left without electricity due to shelling by Russian occupiers.

"As soon as the situation allows, power engineers will inspect the equipment, find out the causes and do everything to restore the power as soon as possible," the power engineers said.

According to the press service of the Kyiv Patrol Police, due to the aftermath of the missile attack on the city of Kyiv and to ensure the protection of the scene, traffic is blocked on Hnat Khotkevych Street in both directions.

Public transportation in the capital has also been changed:

  • Trams 22, 23, 28, 28-D, 29, 32, 33, 35 are delayed.
  • For the convenience of passengers, buses are running on the following route: Myloslavska Street - Chernihivska metro station.
  • Trams from Pozniaky, Boryspilska, Darnytsia Railcar Repair Plant (DVRZ), and Darnytsia Reinforced Concrete Plant (ZZBK) are moving to Lisova metro station.
  • Buses 6, 33-T, 63, 118 are delayed due to traffic blocking.
  • Trolleybuses 11, 12, 43, 43-K, 45 are delayed on Vasyl Kasiian Street/Akademika Hlushkova Avenue due to the lack of voltage.

Klychko also said that the enemy attack damaged a heating main on the left bank of the capital. Experts are determining the extent of the damage and will begin repair work immediately.

At 8:10 a.m., Klychko said that a fire and rescue unit was heading to the Holosiivskyi district, where a building had previously caught fire.

Later, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reacted to the Russian attack, saying that "we will definitely respond to Russia as terrorists will always feel the consequences of their actions."

"More than ten people were injured in Kyiv, and as of now, we know about two dead. There may be people under the rubble. Some communications, including high-voltage cables, have been damaged in the capital. We are working to restore everything as soon as possible," Zelenskyy added.

Later, the mayor of Kyiv informed that there was a preliminary fire in an apartment building in the Holosiivskyi district.

"Emergency services are now working in the Holosiivskyi district. They are extinguishing a fire on several floors in an 18-storey building. A fire is also being extinguished in a service station building. In Dniprovskyi district, the debris damaged high-voltage lines. In total, six people have been injured in the capital as a result of the enemy attack. Three of them are in Dniprovskyi district, two of them were hospitalized. Three were taken to the hospital from the Holosiivskyi district," Klychko said at 8:53 a.m.

According to the mayor, as of 10:04 a.m., 13 people were injured in the capital as a result of the enemy attack. 10 of them, including a pregnant woman, were hospitalized in the Holosiivskyi district. Three people were injured in the Dniprovskyi district. Two of them were hospitalized, one was treated on the spot.

As of 11:38 a.m., according to the mayor of Kyiv, it is known that, according to updated data, four residents were killed, 32 injured in the Holosiivskyi district and three in the Dniprovskyi district.
