A serious emergency has occurred in a colony in the Volgograd region of the Russian Federation. As a result of this incident, there are victims.

Russian media report this. In particular, the hostage-taking took place during a meeting of the disciplinary commission in penal colony No. 19.

It is noted that the prisoners killed at least three employees of the institution. At least seven other people were injured and are in intensive care, and several people remain hostage.

One of the attackers was previously convicted of terrorism. A state of emergency was declared in the colony.

Among the dead, according to preliminary data, are an employee of the Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN) and one prisoner. And among the injured is the head of the colony, Andrey Devyatov.

Special forces arrived at the scene. 1230 prisoners are held in the colony. The attackers claim to be members of the ISIS terrorist organization.

The Federal Penitentiary Service has set up a special commission to investigate the situation.

The road to IP-19 is blocked, and access is restricted to the penitentiary service.

In July, several prisoners took two employees of the detention center hostage in SIZO-1 in Rostov-on-Don, Russia. Negotiations were held with the invaders-six convicts, some of whom were held under a "terrorist" article for their involvement with ISIS- demanding a car, weapons, and the opportunity to leave without hindrance, but Russian security forces eventually launched an assault.
