STATE OF THE POWER SYSTEM

🔹 Consumption this morning is lower than the previous day

🔹 The need for economical consumption during morning and evening peaks remains

Will be supplied throughout the day from Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary, and Moldova. The total volume is 1,926 MWh, with a maximum capacity of up to 304 MW in some hours.

Due to another Russian attack on the Ukrainian power grid, emergency power outages were introduced in Zhytomyr region on November 7, and Rivne region was also partially cut off. Power engineers are actively working to restore power supply. Blackouts are not yet expected in other regions.

This was reported by Ukrenergo. "As a result of a Russian UAV strike on a power facility in Zhytomyr region, Zhytomyr and Rivne regions were partially de-energized," the statement said.

At the same time, overall electricity consumption in Ukraine decreased by 4.1% compared to yesterday morning. The reason for the change in the situation is the sunny weather that has been established in most regions of the country (except for the northeast). This has increased the efficiency of household solar power plants (SPPs).

As Zhytomyroblenergo clarified, the outages did not affect all districts of the region. "In connection with another enemy attack on the energy infrastructure of the region, there are emergency blackouts in Korosten, Zhytomyr, and Zviagel districts," the statement said.

Russia is targeting energy infrastructure in the regions to save missiles that it is stockpiling at strategic aviation airfields. The pace of missile production does not allow Russia to wage an intensive war with their constant use, and shakedowns are a cheaper tool. "The effectiveness of these UAVs is more suitable for terrorizing civilians than for using them for their intended purposes (their effectiveness barely exceeds 10%)," said Andrii Kovalenko, head of the National Security and Defense Council's Central Intelligence Center .

According to the Ministry of Energy. As of the morning of November 7, Ukraine's energy sector reported the restoration of power to more than 26,000 consumers who were left without electricity due to shelling and damage. In general, Ukraine's energy system remains balanced but is under pressure due to significant infrastructure damage.

In the context of frequent infrastructure damage, citizens are advised to save electricity, especially during peak hours from 17:00 to 22:00. Rational use of resources at this time will help stabilize the load on the power system, which will significantly contribute to ensuring uninterrupted electricity supply.

Thanks to the efficient work of power engineers, power supply was restored to 26,011 consumers who were cut off as a result of the hostilities. This achievement demonstrates the high level of mobilization of energy services and significant progress in the field, despite the constant risk of new attacks.

To support the power system, it is also planned to import electricity from Poland, Slovakia, Romania, Hungary, and Moldova, with a total volume of 1900 MWh and a capacity of 304 MW. This will help stabilize supplies in the event of new damages or peak loads during a critical period.

Stable operation of the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) remains an important aspect of Ukraine's energy security. According to power engineers, the water level in the cooling pond at ZNPP is 14.18 meters, which is sufficient to meet the plant's needs. The indicators meet the standards that ensure the safe operation of the nuclear power plant even in difficult conditions.

Preparing for the winter period remains one of the main challenges for Ukraine's energy sector. According to experts, the system is generally well prepared for winter conditions thanks to the significant efforts of the energy sector and the support of international partners. Military expert Serhiy Grabsky noted that the modernization of the power system and strengthening of critical infrastructure protection already allow it to withstand the load of attacks. An important factor in the stability of energy supply is access to imported electricity, which covers part of the needs and provides the necessary reserves.

As OBOZ.UA reported earlier, this winter, Ukraine may experience power outages in case of severe frosts below -10°C for several days. "Ukrenergo plans to introduce temperature-dependent restriction schedules, maintaining power supply in the most critical conditions.
