Occupants hit Odesa with Iskander: port infrastructure damaged, some wounded

On the afternoon of September 20, explosions occurred in Odesa during an air raid alert. According to preliminary data, the enemy fired an Iskander-M ballistic missile at the regional center.

The attack was reported by Odesa Mayor Hennadii Trukhanov. According to preliminary reports, the port and civilian infrastructure, as well as a merchant ship, were damaged: there were civilians injured.

The air alert in Odesa region was announced at 13:55 due to the threat of ballistic missiles from the temporarily occupied Crimea.

Two minutes later, Trukhanov reported explosions in the regional center.

"Explosions are heard in the city! Stay in shelters!" the mayor called.

At 13:59, the Telegram channel "Mykolaiv Vanek" stated that there were hits in Odesa. According to Monitor, the enemy attacked the regional center with one Iskander-M missile.

Meanwhile, Suspilne Odesa published a photo of the smoke that rose over the city after the explosions heard by Odesa residents.

At 15:39, the head of the Odesa regional military administration, Oleh Kiper, provided the first information on the results of the attack.

"The fragments of a preliminary Iskander-M missile damaged the port and civilian infrastructure, as well as a civilian ship flying the Antiguan flag. Four civilians were injured. They are being provided with all necessary assistance. Law enforcers are recording the consequences of another Russian crime," he emphasized, urging residents of the region to respond to air raid warnings and go to shelters.

In addition to Odesa region, as of 2:12 p.m., air alerts were also announced in Kherson, Mykolaiv, Kirovohrad, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Donetsk, Kharkiv regions, as well as in several regions in the west of the country, including Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Bukovyna.

The air raid alert in Odesa region was canceled at 14:28.

As a reminder, on the night of September 20, Russia attacked Ukraine again, launching a missile and 70 Shaheds. During the night air battle, air defense forces shot down 61 drones and an X-59 missile. According to the Air Force, nine more Shaheds were lost locally on the territory of Ukraine, but the defenders of the skies over Ukraine emphasized that they did not receive any information about damage or casualties.

At night and during the day on September 20, Russians also attacked Kherson and the region. There were injuries and a casualty as a result of enemy shelling and drone attacks.

Also on this day, the occupiers attacked a village in the Kharkiv region. An agricultural enterprise came under enemy fire. Two employees were wounded, buildings were damaged, and firefighters extinguished a fire on an area of 500 square meters. The Russians also killed 20 cows.
