How the cast of Beverly Hills has changed

Viewers around the world first saw the Beverly Hills, 90210 series on their screens in 1990. It has definitely become a cult show throughout 10 seasons. It depicted the lives of American teenagers, touching on important and understandable topics for everyone: love, friendship, first sex, betrayal, difficult relationships with parents and peers, addiction, early pregnancy, homophobia, racism and even AIDS. The project had a multi-million dollar fan base that seemed to allow the actors to build a super-successful career, but as often happens, Beverly Hills, 90210 became the pinnacle of recognition and popularity for them.

Almost 33 years have passed since the first episode of the cult series. OBOZREVATEL decided to tell and show how its stars have changed.

Jason Priestley (Brandon Walsh)

The main role in the series was played by Jason Priestley, who will soon turn 54. This handsome man has won many women's hearts, making young fans around the world fall in love with him. In 1998, he performed not only his acting duties but also tried himself as a director of individual episodes, and then took the chair of executive producer. Already during the filming of the final season, Priestley began to worry that he would not be able to surpass the success of the series. Unfortunately, his fears were justified. The actor continued to be perceived exclusively as Brandon Walsh, which is why he even started to feel depressed.

Shannen Doherty (Brenda Walsh)

The actress played one of the key roles in the series, but after the fourth season, she was fired. Rumor has it that the producers had no intention of removing Brenda Walsh, but simply couldn't work with Doherty because of her unbearable character, which led to serious disagreements and conflicts. The actress became more popular thanks to another cult series about witch sisters, Charmed. However, she didn't last long there either because of her behavior: she was fired after the third season. Currently, Shannen is not acting. In 2015, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She underwent a mastectomy, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. For a while, the oncology receded, but in 2020, the star announced that she had a relapse and now has stage four.

Jennie Garth (Kelly Taylor)

Jennie Garth is now 51 years old. She was the main beauty of the series at 18. The role of a rich girl with whom the whole school wanted to be friends brought the actress unprecedented success. However, after the end of the project, in which Garth starred for all 10 seasons, new offers did not come her way. The actress starred in some little-known films, and most often in cameo roles. But the star calls her three daughters from her first marriage, whom she is raising with her third husband, the main reward in her life.

Brian Austin Green (David Silver)

The actor started acting in the series when he was only 17 years old. The role of a junior high school student trying to make friends with the high school students became the most famous in Green's career. His work in other projects was not as successful. And while fans of Beverly Hills, 90210 remember Green as David Silver, people who haven't watched the show know him as Megan Fox's ex-husband. They met on the set of the series Hope & Faith. Fox was 13 years younger. Their marriage, which was dissolved in 2021, gave birth to three wonderful children.

Tori Spelling (Donna Martin)

17-year-old Tori Spelling got into the series thanks to her father, who was its producer. However, the actress managed to fall in love with the audience without her father's influence. After the project closed, she acted a lot, although she remained Donna Martin for most viewers. By the way, the actress played the role of Kelly Taylor's best friend, played by Jennie Garth. Their friendship grew into a real one and continues to this day. In 2007, the actress was ordained as a priest who can marry gay couples and also tried her hand at jewelry design and writing. Today, she and her husband are raising five children.

Gabrielle Carteris (Andrea Zuckerman)

At the time of filming, Gabrielle Carteris was 29 years old, while the other actors playing the schoolchildren were 17-21. Nevertheless, the actress did a great job with her role as a shy school newspaper editor hopelessly in love with the handsome Brandon Walsh. Carteris' career can be called truly successful. You will be surprised because you probably haven't seen the actress in popular films. The fact is that Carteris doesn't really appear in movies. However, in 2016, she became the president of the Screen Actors Guild of the United States.

Earlier, OBOZREVATEL wrote about how the stars of Gilmore Girls have changed. The last episode aired about 16 years ago, and many of the actors are now simply unrecognizable.
