Never cook chicken like this: why it turns out dry and bland
Chicken fillet is a popular product due to its versatility, flavor, and health benefits. However, many people find that this meat often turns out to be dry and tasteless. To avoid this, it is important not only to know how to cook it properly but also to avoid common mistakes.
The ketorecipes chef shared his tips for cooking chicken on TikTok. It is worth correcting some common mistakes that spoil the meat.
Drying out due to overcooking
Frying or baking for too long is the main cause of dry chicken. To avoid this, it is important to monitor the cooking time and temperature.
Using meat from the refrigerator
Chicken that has not been brought to room temperature before cooking often cooks unevenly. This results in overcooking on the outside, while the inside remains raw.
No marinade
Unmarinated meat has a less distinct flavor and dry texture. Marinade not only adds flavor but also makes the fibers soft.
Ignoring the rest after cooking
The meat should be left for 5-10 minutes after cooking so that the juices are evenly distributed throughout the fibers. This will make it tender and juicy.
Ingredients:
- chicken fillets – 3 pcs.
- baking soda – 0.5 tsp.
- oregano – 1 tsp.
- garlic powder – 1 tsp.
- smoked paprika – 1 tsp.
- natural yogurt – 2 tbsp.
- lemon juice – 0.5 pcs.
- salt and pepper – to taste
Method of preparation:
1. Mix spices, yogurt, lemon juice and baking soda.
2. Marinate the chicken and leave for at least 30 minutes. Baking soda helps soften the fibers, making the meat tender.
3. Heat to room temperature. Remove the meat from the refrigerator in advance.
4. Cook the fillets over medium heat, covered, for 3.5 minutes on one side, then turn over and cook for another 7 minutes.
5. Leave the finished fillet for 5 minutes before serving.
