"It will be the biggest mistake": Klychko gives Fury advice before Usyk fight

Klychko praised Usyk and Fury's fight

Legendary Ukrainian boxer Vitaliy Klychko finds it difficult to name a favorite for the fight between Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) and Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs). The mayor of Kyiv noted that the Gypsy King, as the Manchester native is known, impressed with his transformation after defeating Volodymyr Klychko, when he managed to overcome depression.

Klychko Sr. said this in an interview with GBN News, according to the Sport Bible portal. The "eternal" World Boxing Council (WBC) world champion emphasized that Fury should stick to his regimen in order to claim victory over Usyk in a fight for all the belts of the royal division.

"Fury needs to follow a regimen. Not much fast food, no alcohol, no drugs and prepare well for this fight. Tyson changed his life and defeated Wilder. And that's why it would be the biggest mistake to say who will be the winner. Yes, of course, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Usyk. I hope Usyk wins this fight and brings the WBC belt back to Ukraine. But we'll see," Klychko said.

As a reminder, Usyk and Fury were supposed to fight on February 17, but the fight was postponed to May 18 due to a cut. The day before, the World Boxing Organization (WBO) made a statement about the rematch between the Ukrainian and the British.

In turn, promoter Eddie Hearn informed that, according to the organizers of boxing nights in Saudi Arabia, the winner of the Usyk-Fury fight on May 18 will fight the strongest in the confrontation between Anthony Joshua (27-3, 24 KOs) and Francis Ngannou (0-1, 0 KOs).

At the same time, the Ukrainian's team has already decided on a boxer who will replace Tyson if he refuses to enter the ring again. If the Gypsy King does so, he will also face a multimillion-dollar fine.

As OBOZ.UA reported earlier, Tyson Fury's father John sharply attacked Oleksandr Usyk's team representatives after they questioned the British boxer's injury. And Croatian heavyweight Agron Smakic (20-2, 18 KOs) told the whole truth about what happened in the British fighter's camp.
