The manager of the Ukrainian champion gave a frank interview to the British media

WBC, WBA, WBO, and IBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs) will not rush to return to the ring, his manager Egis Klimas told boxingscene.com. Klimas said that Usyk will most likely fight again sometime "in late July or August."

"It will be a very long preparation. After another 12 rounds with Fury, he needs a good, long recovery," the Lithuanian added.

Speaking of possible opponents, Klimas mentioned Daniel Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs) with skepticism, saying that he must first defeat Joseph Parker on February 22 before he can fight Usyk.

The 32-year-old New Zealander scored impressive victories over former WBC world champion Deontay Wilder and Chinese giant Zhilei Zhang in Riyadh this year.

"Dubois has to beat Parker before he can even start thinking about Usyk," said Klimas.

Dubois, who, after a ninth-round knockout loss to Usyk in 2023, won three straight. In September, he became the IBF champion, defeating Anthony Joshua by TKO in the fifth round.

Dubois, 27, ran into the ring in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, seconds after Usyk was declared the winner of his rematch with Fury to demand a second match of their fight.
