"It was obvious that he was scared. Usyk will finish": Briedis names main reason for Ukrainian's victory over Fury
Former world heavyweight champion Mairis Briedis believes that Oleksandr Usyk's (23-0, 14 KOs) victory over Tyson Fury (34-2-1, 24 KOs) in the rematch was fair. The Latvian, who gave our compatriot one of the toughest fights of his career, noted that the Ukrainian simply crushed his British opponent psychologically.
This opinion was expressed by Briedis on the YouTube channel "Viktor Yalymov's Boxing Studio". According to the three-time world champion, during the Usyk-Fury rematch, it was clearly evident that Tyson's plan was clearly not working, and this made the Gypsy King, as the boxer from Morkam is known, very angry and nervous.
"You could see that Fury was unsure, scared, because psychology worked. He lost the first time on foot. Whatever you want to say, it was about the same as with Joshua. In fact, this fight can be viewed from all sides: psychology, philosophy and physiology. I think Usyk will finish. I would do that if I were him. Why? Because you have to be able to leave well. He made money and he won't make money with anyone else, he took all the cream off the top," Briedis said.
As a reminder, all three judges of the Usyk vs. Fury 2 fight gave the victory to the Ukrainian boxer with a score of 116-112. In addition, it became known what result was recorded by artificial intelligence. This angered Tyson, who called himself the strongest with a difference of at least three rounds. After the fight, he was "disqualified".
Former champion Anthony Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs) gave his version of the rounds. And the legendary Lennox Lewis admitted that he was not impressed with the fight.
In addition, promoter Eddie Hearn disputed the score of the rematch between Usyk and Fury. In turn, the British media learned what Tyson was told before the 12th round of the fight.
At the same time, impressive statistics of the opponents' punches in the fight were published. A photo showed what Fury's face looked like after 100 missed punches from Usyk.
After the victory, the Ukrainian boxer decided on his next opponent and also made a confession about the rematch with Tyson.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, Paris Fury's reaction was caught on camera when Oleksandr was announced the winner of the rematch with Tyson. In addition, the fight was shown in a famous cartoon. And in Russia, fake words of the British about Volodymyr Zelensky began to spread. The Ukrainian was suspended from boxing.
