Kateryna Kukhar was offered to head the Ministry of Culture

The day before, members of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine supported the resignation of Minister of Culture Oleksandr Tkachenko, who was involved in a number of scandals, so Ukrainian cultural figures are waiting for a new head of the ministry. As it turned out, the position was offered to Kateryna Kukhar, a prima ballerina at the National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater of Ukraine, but it is not known when.

She told her followers about it herself, who offered her to head the Ministry of Culture. However, the artist refused because she has a "different mission" (to see the photo, scroll to the bottom of the page).

Kukhar said that culture shapes the outlook of the state, so she hopes to see a worthy person in a high position.

"Ukraine is waiting for a new Minister of Culture. I know that many candidates are trying to get to power by all means. Task No. 1 is to preserve and accumulate the best of Ukrainian culture to pass on to the future generation. Culture creates the worldview of the state, without which we are all doomed. That is why it is so important that this figure is worthy of his position," the ballerina shared her thoughts.

In the comments, the star's subscribers noted that she would be the best candidate for the role of Minister of Culture, and Kukhar replied that not only her fans think so.

"I was offered, but now I have a different mission," the artist wrote. She did not disclose when the offer was made.

As a reminder, the reason for Oleksandr Tkachenko's dismissal was a scandal that erupted over the multimillion-dollar state funding of the film industry, which Ukrainians consider inappropriate in a full-scale war. Tkachenko was also criticized for his decision to spend more than 500 million hryvnias to complete the construction of the National Museum of the Holodomor Genocide of the Ukrainian People.

On July 21, the minister announced that he had resigned due to "a wave of misunderstanding about the importance of culture in times of war." President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, for his part, has already instructed the government to consider his replacement.
