The Ministry of Education and Science (MES) has emphasized that schools cannot use textbooks that have expired. In particular, this applies to the 10th grade textbook "Defense of the Fatherland" published by Aston Publishing, which expired in 2023.

The education ministry also emphasized that due to the renewal of the subject and the change of its name to "Defense of Ukraine," the discipline should still be taught according to the methodological recommendations. The MES published the explanation on its official website.

"The textbook "Defense of the Fatherland. Standard level", in which an image of the uniform of the enemy Russian army was found, cannot be used in the educational process of general secondary education institutions. After all, the stamp "Recommended by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine" expired in 2023 ," the statement said.

The education ministry noted that the methodological recommendations for the updated subject take into account the realities of martial law and the needs of the younger generation for self-defense skills.

As a reminder, high school students in one of Kyiv's schools received textbooks on the subject of "Defense of the Fatherland," which depicted Ukrainian defenders in Russian uniforms and with an enemy sniper rifle. Parents raised the alarm about this situation, but the educational institution says that they have no other literature for teaching. If you search for the image from the textbook online, you will find that the original photo directs you to Russian websites that talk about enemy Ratnik equipment and AK rifles.

Earlier, OBOZ.UA reported that the network raised the alarm about the abnormal number of first-year psychologists.
