"I wanted to hit him": Usyk reacts emotionally to Dubois' behavior

Usyk spoke about Dubois

The unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs) admitted that he was angry with the behavior of Daniel Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs) after the Ukrainian's rematch with Tyson Fury (34-2-1, 24 KOs). Our compatriot noted that when the Briton jumped into the ring and challenged him to a second fight, he wanted to punch him in the face.

Usyk said this in an interview with ESPN UK YouTube channel. According to Oleksandr, Dubois behaved extremely unprofessionally, because the Ukrainian himself had just had the hardest 12-round fight against the Gypsy King, and he was already being challenged.

"This is bullshit! This is bullshit. I just had a fight, boxed a hard fight... And he comes out and says, "Listen, the result of the first fight was unfair. And so on. I stand there and think: "Listen, get out of here". I wanted to punch him. But then I said I was willing to organize another fight. In short, it's a regular show. Let's see what happens on February 22, when Dubois fights Parker," Usyk said.

It should be noted that Oleksandr and Daniel fought in August 2023 in Warsaw. Back then, the Ukrainian won by TKO in the ninth round, while the Briton scored a punch below the belt. After the fight, Dubois' team appealed the result, which was rejected.

The day before, our compatriot named his opponent for the next fight. Oleksandr also said that he is preparing to fight the most unusual fight in his career, which he is going to finish soon.

In addition, Usyk did not believe that Fury had really retired from boxing and refused to fight in Ukraine for the bridgerweight belt.

Last week it became known that our compatriot could be deprived of the World Boxing Council (WBC) belt. In addition, promoter Oleksandr Krasiuk announced the date when the boxer will hold his next fight after two victories over Fury.
