Ukrainians and people around the world continue to suffer from the abnormal heat this summer. However, it is worth remembering that high temperatures affect not only people but also animals. Pets and street animals cannot take care of themselves on their own, so they need help to survive the hot days and nights.

The most important thing is to provide animals with constant access to fresh and clean water. This was stated by the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center.

"Summer heat is as dangerous for animals as it is for humans. So don't forget to take care of our furry friends," they said.

Ukrainians are advised to take a water bottle with them for a walk. They are also urged to take care not only of their pets but also of stray animals.

To improve the animal's well-being, you can wet its collar, as well as moisten its paw pads and stomach with water. Whenever possible, pets should be provided with a cool room or shade.

In the heat, long walks or physical activity should be avoided, especially in the middle of the day when the temperature is the highest.

"Never leave animals in a closed car! The temperature inside the car can quickly rise to dangerous levels," the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center emphasized.
