Spicy pickled mackerel is a great addition to boiled or fried potatoes. The fish is very fleshy and has very few bones, so it is ideal for this preparation. If you make the right marinade, the product will be ready in a day.
The idea of cooking delicious pickled mackerel was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Oksana Buchkovska (buchkovska ok). It is best to do this in a glass jar because the fish will marinate perfectly under the lid and be saturated with all the flavors.
Recipe for pickled mackerel in a jar

Ingredients for the marinade for 2-3 fish:
- water – 0.5 l
- salt – 1 tbsp
- sugar – 1 tsp.
- coriander – 1 tsp.
- fish seasoning – 0.5 tsp.
- cloves, bay leaves, allspice – 2 pcs.
- black peppercorns – 6 pcs.
- vinegar – 1-2 tbsp. 9 %

1. Defrost the mackerel, clean it, wash it well.
2. Place in a jar.

3. Put all the ingredients for the marinade in a saucepan.
4. Bring to a boil and keep on low heat under a lid for 1-2 minutes to brew the seasonings. Cool.

6. Leave in a cold place for a day to marinate.
