Attracts prosperity to the house: the ideal houseplant for beginners is named
Aichrison or the tree of love is a unique plant that will make a great interior decoration. Aichrison loves bright, diffused light, so east and west window sills are ideal places. Beautiful heart-shaped leaves and ease of care make it an excellent choice for beginners.
Water the aichrison moderately when the topsoil dries out, and in winter, the watering regime should be reduced. Experts told us how to care for the plant, which is believed to attract prosperity to the home.
General characteristics of the plant
Aichrison belongs to the Crassulaceae family. Indoor aichrison is a succulent, which means it can store water in its fleshy leaves and stems.
It is a small plant that usually reaches a height of about 20-30 centimeters when grown in pots. With proper care, aichrison blooms in spring or summer. Small star-shaped flowers (usually yellow) appear, which usually last for several weeks.
The natural habitats of the plant are the Canary Islands, the Azores, Madeira, and the Iberian Peninsula. Aichrison prefers warm, dry climates and tolerates difficult conditions.
Tree of love: folk beliefs
Legend has it that aichrison brings happiness and harmony to the home. Its characteristic small, densely spaced, rounded leaves resemble small hearts. This is one of the main reasons why it is often called the tree of love.
In many cultures, it is believed that a healthy aichrison in the home portends happiness in relationships or success in finding your soul mate. But be careful: the poor condition of the plant can be a sign of upcoming difficulties.
How to grow aichrison
Aichrison loves light, well-drained soil. A ready-made succulent substrate or a self-prepared mixture of turf, sand, and leafy soil in equal parts is suitable. Allow the water to drain freely by placing the plant in a pot with drainage. Do not leave the plant in drafts and regularly remove withered flowers and leaves.
How to care for aichrison at home
The plant is easy to grow, but it needs the right conditions. Aichrison thrives best in places with diffused light. Direct sunlight can cause burns on the decorative leaves.
As a succulent, aichrison does not need frequent watering. Water only when the soil in the pot is completely dry. In winter, limit watering to a minimum, as the plant goes dormant at this time.
In spring and summer, the optimum temperature for aichrison is between 20-25°C. In winter, the plant undoubtedly prefers cooler conditions. It is advisable to move it to a place where the temperature does not exceed 15°C.
Aichrison develops well in fairly tight pots. Transplanting should be done every two to three years. Aichrison is fertilized with liquid fertilizer for succulents from March to September once a month.
Aichrison tolerates dry air well, but periodic spraying with warm water will benefit it.
If the aichrison lacks light, the stems can stretch out and become bare from below.
