How to combine makeup with sunscreen: two techniques

How to wear makeup and sunscreen together

Sunscreen protects against the harmful effects of ultraviolet rays and is crucial for maintaining youthful skin. However, this product does not always work well with makeup, so it is tempting to choose, for example, an SPF 15 foundation and skip the preliminary step of applying a care base.

Dermatologists warn that you shouldn't completely abandon the protective cream. Experts told us how to combine daily makeup with sunscreen.

Dermatologist Ivy Lee emphasized that SPF products do not have a cumulative effect. The level of protection will not increase if you apply SPF 50 sunscreen and cover it with SPF 15 foundation. Li emphasized that using sunscreen before makeup can lead to uneven coverage, as you can erase some of the sunscreen when applying makeup.

You can replace your foundation with a good quality tinted sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30.

A tinted sunscreen won't provide as much coverage as a thicker foundation, so it's a great option if you just want to even out your skin a bit.

To remove shine and protect the skin from UV light, you can also add mineral powder to your makeup to give it a matte finish. This will also eliminate the need to renew your SPF cream every 3-4 hours.

Experts advise paying attention to the presence of zinc oxide in the composition of care products to block both UVA and UVB rays.

Unfortunately, there is no one hundred percent effective trick to applying sunscreen and makeup with SPF once a day. You really need to reapply sunscreen to get the most out of it.
