Decommunization in Ukraine is not yet complete

In Kyiv, 124 objects with names associated with the USSR or the aggressor country still remain unrenamed. There are more than 1,000 of them in the Kyiv region.

This was reported in the Telegram channel of the public organization "Decolonization. Ukraine". Decommunization in the country is still not complete.

"We have updated the map with the number of streets to be renamed in the process of decommunization/decolonization by region. Renaming continues every day, so there are probably a few less streets," the statement said.

According to the NGO, 124 objects in the capital of Ukraine still have old names, names associated with the USSR or the aggressor country of Russia. In Kyiv region, there are 1036 such objects. It should be added that Vinnytsia region has the most unrenamed streets, while Lviv region has the least.

As a reminder, five libraries in Kyiv have been renamed after ideological figures of the Russian aggressor country. The relevant decisions were made on Thursday, January 18, at a meeting of the Kyiv City Council by the majority of deputies.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, the St. George's ribbon, which was placed on the wall along the entire platform, has finally been removed from the Heroiv Dnipra metro station in Kyiv. Subway workers painted over it.
