"He will beat anyone": Briedis says what will happen to Dubois in Usyk rematch
Briedis assessed the rematch between Usyk and Dubois
Former Latvian boxer Mairis Briedis is confident that Oleksandr Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs) will easily win his rematch with Daniel Dubois (22-0, 21 KOs). The former world heavyweight champion questioned the class of the Briton, noting that our compatriot has more significant victories.
Briedis voiced this opinion on his YouTube channel. Usyk's former rival added that Dubois is significantly inferior to the Ukrainian in skills and understanding of boxing, and that his only asset is a victory over the already practically written-off Anthony Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs).
"Dubu has great natural gifts, but he has a low boxing IQ. And I want to ask - who did he grow up on? On the broken Joshua? And Usyk has grown five times more during this time. Look who he beat. Hell, he won twice against Fury, who was undefeated. Fury will come out and beat any other heavyweight now. So I think that in the rematch with Dubois, everything will be even easier for Oleksandr than in the first fight," Briedis said.
Earlier, Du Bois spoke out categorically about Usyk, from whom he demanded a rematch, jumping into the ring after Alexander's victory over Tyson Fury (34-2-1, 24 KOs) on December 21. The Briton also explained his action.
It will be recalled that Usyk defeated Dubois by TKO in the ninth round in August 2023, and the Briton was punished with a dirty punch below the belt.
