Oleksandr Krasiuk gave a frank interview

Oleksandr Krasiuk said that the future of Oleksandr Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs) depends on his own decisions. The promoter of the WBC, WBO, WBA and IBO heavyweight champion admitted that his client intends to rest in the near future and will decide what to do next in his career.

Krasiuk also commented on the rumors about Usyk's possible move to cruiserweight, noting that it remains an option.

"He makes his own decisions, and one of the options is to return to cruiserweight. Is it reasonable? I don't know, it's hard to say. But Usyk has never made smart moves, and from the very beginning of his career, no one believed that he could become something significant. I became his promoter from the first fight, and after the fourth fight I heard people saying that Oleksandr was not something special. He was a top 10 fighter then, but someone from an organization could have easily beaten him. And now we see that he became the absolute cruiserweight champion and the absolute heavyweight champion. So you shouldn't rely on anyone's opinion," said Krasiuk on the Ring Magazine YouTube channel.

When it comes to possible opponents, Krasiuk expressed his preference for Joseph Parker in the event of a rematch with Daniel Dubois, if he beats Parker or another contender.

"I would choose Parker because he is more technical, strategic, his footwork is much better. Daniel has a powerful punch, and that could be the decisive moment in the fight, but I think Parker has enough boxing IQ to win," the Ukrainian promoter said.

Earlier, Daniel Dubois' (22-2, 21 KOs) promoter Frank Warren expressed confidence that Usyk allegedly intends to become the absolute world champion in the king's division for the second time. To do this, he plans to fight the winner of the Dubois-Parker fight.

Usyk was already the owner of all the belts in the division when he defeated Tyson Fury (34-2-1, 24 KOs) last May. However, our compatriot was forced to give up the IBF title for a rematch with the Gypsy King. The trophy eventually went to Dubois, who knocked out Anthony Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs).

We'd like to remind you that Oleksandr defeated Daniel by TKO in the ninth round in August 2023, and the Briton scored with a dirty punch below the belt.
