For the first time in its history, the Greek national football team defeated England, creating a huge sensation in the third round of the Nations League. Coach Ivan Jovanovic's men shocked the finalists of the 2024 European Championship in London at the legendary Wembley Stadium, winning 2-1.

But the Greeks managed to snatch the victory. In the last added minute, Pavlidis took advantage of the commotion at Pickford's goal and shocked the crowd with a five-meter shot. Thus, for the first time in 10 matches, the Hellenes managed to prevail in the confrontation with the English.
