Ukrainian Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fighter Ihor Poteria (21-6) suffered a crushing defeat at UFC 301 in Rio de Janeiro. The 27-year-old middleweight was able to last less than a minute in the fight against local fighter Michel Pereira (31-11).

From the first seconds, Pereira rushed to attack the Kyivan. At first, the Brazilian managed a counterpunch to the head, which sent our compatriot to the floor. Then Pereira performed a flip, landing a knee to the head of his opponent.

The stunned Ukrainian managed to get up but did not have time to recover. Pereira grabbed Ihor's neck in a choke hold and forced him to tap out.

For this performance, Michel received a $50,000 bonus for "Performance of the Night".

As reported by OBOZ.UA in February, Poteria defeated Robert Bryczek (17-5) from Poland at the contractual weight limit (up to 85.3 kg). The main card bout at UFC Fight Night 236 in Las Vegas (USA) ended by the judges' decision: 30-27, 30-27 and 29-28.
