Routes to choose for beginner climbers

Climbing mountains is not for the faint of heart. However, you should not start with Everest or Kangchenjunga either. There are much easier peaks to climb. OBOZREVATEL has selected 5 mountains that even a beginner can conquer.

Whitney (USA)

The highest rock of the Sierra Nevada mountain system is located in the world-famous Death Valley. It rises 3,071 meters above the level of the nearby valley and has a total height of 4,420 meters.

The easiest climb to the top begins in the town of Whitney Portal. To complete the round trip, you need to cover more than 35 kilometers. Usually, the entire route takes up to 4 days. Along the way, tourists stop at roadside camps to spend the night, warm up, and relax. The only real danger is bears, which sometimes attack people. However, everyone is given a briefing before the climb and explained how to scare the animal away from their tent.

There is a climbing route next to the walking path. It has a difficulty level of 3 out of 10 and is accessible to everyone.

Before climbing, you should get proper training and instructions.

Monte Rosa (Switzerland, Italy)

The highest point of the mountain range - Mount Dufour (4,634 m) - can be reached from Switzerland and Italy. The second option is a bit longer but more suitable for beginners. Due to the gradual ascent, climbers do not experience problems with acclimatization and do not suffer from altitude sickness.

The route passes through several other peaks, where you can stop the journey and return. These are the Signalkuppe, Zumsteinspitze and Grenzgipfel mountains. At the end of the journey, tourists will be rewarded with a night in the beautiful Margherita Hut with fun and a friendly atmosphere.

Every peak has its difficult and risky spots.

Triglav (Slovenia)

The national symbol of Slovenia, Triglav, is depicted on its coat of arms and flag. The climb to the top of this seemingly not very high mountain (2,864 meters) is actually very dangerous. The fact is that the rock has places where it is almost impossible to pass without an experienced guide. However, from a technical point of view, beginners can cope with the road.

There are several routes to Triglav. The easiest one passes through the Krma Valley, and the most difficult one is through the Vrata. The first option is recommended for inexperienced climbers. However, they will not be allowed to climb the mountain without instruction and colleagues with more experience.

It is better to climb the mountain with a professional guide.

Tryfan (Great Britain)

Another low mountain that rises only 917 meters above sea level. However, most of the route is a cliff, which is very difficult to move around. This peak is a great experience and risk for those who are new to mountaineering. However, if you are accompanied by an experienced guide, you can reach the highest point without any problems.

Tryfan is probably the most famous mountain in the UK, where both local and foreign fans of extreme recreation come to visit. They are most attracted to the 600-meter off-road zone, which is a challenge for every climber.

The climb can take from 2 to 5 days.

Dolomites (Italy)

The famous ski resort has many hotels, recreation centers, and guesthouses. Therefore, there are definitely no problems with infrastructure here. The climbing routes, of which there are at least 10, are mostly easy and designed for beginners. However, you should not forget that there is a glacier and cliffs, so you need take preparations seriously.

The incredible views that open from the top of the Dolomites are worth the difficult rocky road.

The highest reward for a climber is the view from the top of the mountain.
