Fingerprints will be taken from tourists at the entrance to Turkey: what is known

Turkish Interior Minister Ali Erlikaya has announced changes to border crossing rules that the country's authorities are preparing to implement for security reasons. The innovations will include fingerprinting of everyone entering the country and chipping of some documents.

The politician told journalists of the local newspaper Sabah about this. According to Ali Erkaliy, 126,766 illegal migrants were detected in Turkey last year alone.

The Minister of the Interior has announced that fingerprints will be taken at the entrance to Turkey, as in the US and the UK, to strengthen security measures. This will apply to tourists from all countries.

Another project that is being prepared to be implemented involves the introduction of chipped identity cards for those with temporary protection status, especially Syrians. Such documents will be impossible to fake, the ministry said.

It is likely that Ukrainians seeking protection from the war will also be able to obtain such IDs.
