Explosion near oil storage facility near Voronezh: first details
On the afternoon of March 6, Russia reported a new "bavovna". A powerful explosion occurred near an oil storage facility near Voronezh.
This was reported by Russian propagandists. They assure that "civilian objects" were allegedly not damaged.
"An explosion occurred near an oil storage facility near Voronezh, no civilian objects were damaged, the press service of the regional government reported," one of the Russian propaganda outlets wrote.
The propagandists do not report on the causes of the explosion, nor do they provide any information about its consequences.
As of 13:00, the local governor, Alexander Gusev, was also silent about the explosion near Voronezh. His only message, published around 12 p.m., warned residents of the region that it was forbidden to film or post videos of the aftermath of the arrivals.
"Dear residents of the Voronezh region! Please do not film or post on social networks and various online resources footage of UAV crashes, air defense operations or their aftermath. By doing so, you are helping the enemy and endangering the operational staff working at the sites of attacks. I hope for your understanding," the official wrote.
This is not the first "bavovna" in the Voronezh region during the day on March 6. In the morning, the invaders complained about a drone attack on the Baltimore military airfield in Voronezh and an oil depot in the region . However, the Russian media assured that those attacks were unsuccessful.
Unlike the "bavovna" in the Kursk region. On the morning of March 6, a drone crashed into a fuel tanker on the territory of the Mikhailovsky Varichev Mining and Processing Plant. A massive fire broke out.
A few hours later, another UAV hit the same location, also "landing" on a fuel storage tank, according to Russian media.
Mikhailovsky Mining and Processing Plant is one of Russia's largest iron ore mining and enrichment enterprises. It is owned by the sanctioned Metalloinvest company of Russian oligarch Alisher Usmanov.
Among other things, the company supplies raw materials to Ural Steel, a steel producer. The latter is also one of the suppliers to Uralvagonzavod, which specializes in the production of tanks for the Russian army.
Also on that day, an explosion occurred at a thermal power plant in Tyva (or Tuva), the home of Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu. A massive fire broke out afterwards.
Local authorities reported about 20 injured and did not confirm reports that one of them died in hospital. However, judging by the video that captured the moment of the explosion, it would not be surprising if more people were injured than officially reported.
