The Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine managed to kill 17 North Korean soldiers in the Kursk region. Another DPRK soldier blew himself up with a grenade.

A video of the coordinated actions of our fighters was posted on the Telegram channel of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. None of the Ukrainian military was injured.

"Soldiers of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled an assault by North Korean troops that lasted from morning until night in the Kursk region. During this time, the rangers of the 6th Regiment of the Special Operations Forces killed 17 DPRK soldiers, and one of them blew himself up with a grenade," the statement said.

In the morning, the SOF clearing team found one surviving DPRK soldier, who planned to mislead our military to blow himself up with them on a grenade. However, his trap was unsuccessful, our defenders noticed the danger and left the area in time before the North Korean soldier blew himself up.

"The SOF soldiers noticed the danger in time and quickly withdrew from the area of attack. No one was injured," the statement said.

On January 11, it became known that the Ukrainian military captured soldiers from the DPRK in the Kursk region. The wounded militants were taken to Kyiv. North Korean soldiers are testifying to SSU investigators.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, on January 12, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy released a video of the interrogation of the first prisoners of war from North Korea. They said that their commanders had lied to them, saying that the Koreans were just going for training. One of the prisoners said he wanted to live in Ukraine.
