British director and screenwriter Christopher Nolan, known for his Oscar-winning film "Oppenheimer," is returning to Universal Studios to work on his next project. He plans to release a new film in the summer of 2026, and Matt Damon may become one of the actors.

It was reported by Gamesradar. It is known that Nolan plans to write and direct the film with his wife, film producer Emma Thomas. Filming is expected to start in early 2025.

After the success of "Oppenheimer," which won seven Oscars and earned $958 million at the global box office, Christopher re-teamed with Universal Studios in an effort to repeat that success.

Insiders said that the movie is planned to be released in the summer of 2026, but its plot and title remain a secret for now. At the same time, it has been reported that actor Matt Damon is already in talks to take part in the upcoming filming.

If Damon is approved for the role, this will be the third collaboration between the actor and Nolan after "Interstellar" and "Oppenheimer."

Earlier it was reported that Cillian Murphy, the actor of "Peaky Blinders," has an incredibly pleasant and friendly relationship with director Christopher Nolan, in whose films the actor has played as many as 6 times. Thus, in the first copy of the script for "Oppenheimer" that he received from Nolan, he received a small note that cannot but touch him.
