Cheap but beautiful: a little-known ski town in Europe wants to attract more tourists

The small town of Bankso, located in the Pirin Mountains in southwestern Bulgaria, is gradually becoming a popular tourist destination for outdoor enthusiasts. Known for its accessible ski resorts, Bankso is now striving to attract tourists not only in winter but throughout the year.

The resort is famous for its moderate prices and relatively small number of visitors, which makes it an attractive option for those who want to relax in the mountains of Europe on a budget. However, the town is now actively developing infrastructure for tourists to attract visitors in the summer as well.

Pirin National Park, where the resort is located, is an ideal destination for nature lovers. Visitors can enjoy crystal-clear lakes, picturesque forests, and mountain ranges, which create ideal conditions for hiking, camping, and ecotourism.
