Benfica defeated Sporting in the Portuguese League Cup final in a penalty shoot-out (1:1, 7:6). Ukrainian goalkeeper Anatoliy Trubin played the full match and became a real star by saving a decisive 11-meter shot from Francisco Trincao.

Trubin predicted the direction of the ball and was able to deflect it into the bottom right corner of the goal. After that, Benfica fans at the Estádio Dr. Magalhães Pessoa stadium in Leiria stood up to applaud.

They cheered for the 23-year-old Ukrainian, who ensured his team's victory in the tournament and became the main star of the match, for quite a long time.

Anatoliy's teammates rushed to hug him right after the epic moment, recognizing his incredible contribution to the team's success.

Anatoliy Trubin joined Benfica on August 10, 2023. The Donetsk native was sold for €10 million + a €1 million bonus. Since then, he has played 74 matches for the Eagles in all competitions, conceding 66 goals. He finished 29 games with a no-score draw.

In March last year, Trubin protected the goal from every attack and led Benfica to the quarterfinals of the Europa League.
