An important rule may be introduced for the Usyk-Fury rematch

The World Boxing Council (WBC) continues to insist on major changes to the rules for the rematch between Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) and Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) scheduled for December 21. Following the proposal that the fight score should be kept by six judges, not three, the organization came up with the idea of using a video replay system.

WBC President Mauricio Sulaimán said this in an interview with talkSport. According to him, video replays will help to avoid serious mistakes in the work of the referee in the ring in case of controversial situations, as it was when Fury was awarded a standing knockdown in the first fight. At the same time, the official admitted that his idea has not yet found support.

"Video replays are a system that the WBC implemented back in 2008. But we have a complicated situation with the British Boxing Board of Control (BOCC). They do not agree to use the system. However, we will insist on its implementation during the preparation for the rematch. In addition, we reserve the right to make our own decision on the use of big screens," said Sulaimán.
