A Christmas tree installed in Lviv: the city is actively preparing for the celebration. Photo report
On December 1, the main square near the Solomiia Krushelnytska Opera House in Lviv was used to set up the main symbol of Christmas and the New Year, a festive Christmas tree. The tree will be decorated with light illumination purchased back in 2018, and an anti-tank "hedgehog" will be hung on the top instead of a star.
A special correspondent of OBOZ.UA published footage of the city, which is rapidly transforming into festive attributes. A resident of the Bilohorshcha district handed over the Christmas tree to Lviv residents and guests from his garden.
"We decided to share this beauty with everyone so that it could please not only us but others as well. It was not a spontaneous decision because we have long thought that in such a difficult time, maybe our beauty will add more light and warmth to everyone who admires it," Yosyp explained the motive behind his gift.
The coniferous tree is indeed very magnificent and promises to decorate the historic center despite the hardships of wartime. The brilliance and elegance of the Christmas symbol will delight and comfort Ukrainians, and will also become another reason for impotent anger among the enemies.
But it's not just Svoboda Avenue that is preparing for Christmas festivities, it seems that with the arrival of December, all the streets of Lviv breathe with the anticipation of the holidays. The windows are decorated with fairy-tale attributes, the aroma of hot chocolate, buns, and the expectation of a miracle.
As a reminder, in Kyiv, the country's main Christmas tree will be set up on St. Sophia Square until December 6, and it will be funded by patrons. No mass events, fairs or entertainment will be held at this location.
As OBOZ.UA previously reported, back in July, MPs officially supported the celebration of Christmas in Ukraine on December 25.
