Top 5 most expensive resorts in the world

Everyone likes to have a vacation, and of course, wealthy people do too. But they don't go to Turkey or the Sea of Azov, they choose to vacation in remote parts of the world where the service is better than just all-inclusive.

Most often, these are remote islands in the middle of the ocean or a hotel in the high Swiss mountains. OBOZREVATEL has compiled a list of places where you can meet billionaires, royals and Hollywood stars.

1. St. Barthelemy, Caribbean

Once upon a time, it was an inconspicuous island of volcanic origin 20 km from St. Maarten. Everything changed when David Rockefeller (grandson of the famous Rockefeller) bought a house here in 1957. He was followed by Rothschild and other millionaires.

Celebrities began to flock to the island, many of them buying huge villas and bungalows so that they could come here at any time without problems.

The cost of 70 acres of land with bungalows overlooking the ocean, tennis courts, swimming pools, dance and dining pavilions reaches almost $90 million. However, the island is also open to ordinary tourists who have their own yacht and enough money to pay for at least one night in local apartments.

2. Serengeti House, Tanzania

During the COVID-19, Tanzania became a tourist magnet as it was one of the few countries in the world with open borders.

But not everyone has heard of the luxury hotel called Serengeti House, which is located right on the territory of the Grumeti Game Reserve.

The highlight of this place is the views that open right from the terrace. Wild animals come close to drink from the hotel's pool or look through the windows. The decor of the building mirrors the natural environment, and the furniture is made in a safari style.

This exclusive residence is rented only upon request. It is the most luxurious in Africa that has no alternatives in the world, as construction in nature reserves is prohibited.

3. Rambagh Palace, India

The Rambagh Palace is considered the "pearl of Jaipur" due to its magnificent interiors and grounds. Over the years, it has been repeatedly recognized as the most beautiful hotel in the world.

Guests here enjoy personal butlers, as well as a whole retinue of maids, bartenders, and cooks.

Members of the British royal family, including Lord Mountbatten and Prince Charles of Wales, have stayed here many times during their visits to India.

4. Denis Island, Seychelles

The coral island of Denis with the hotel of the same name is a secluded place in the Indian Ocean. There are no noisy parties and lots of guests here, as you can only get here by helicopter.

The hotel does not have mobile telephony, internet and television. All communication with the outside world takes place through the hotel administration. There are only 50 natives on the island, and every single one of them serves the guests.

5. St. Moritz, Switzerland

The Swiss lakeside ski resort of St. Moritz is one of the oldest and most aristocratic in the world. It is located in the Engadin Valley and boasts a unique climate: there are 322 sunny days a year.
