"10 or 12 times": WBC answers questions about third fight between Usyk and Fury
The World Boxing Council (WBC) will support the third fight between Oleksandr Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs) and Tyson Fury (34-2-1, 24 KOs). The organization noted that the Ukrainian and the Briton have already given the fans two incredible confrontations in which the opponents gave a very close result.
This was stated by WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman in an interview with the Boxing News YouTube channel. The official emphasized that in the first fight, everyone saw Fury on the verge of a knockout, and in the second fight on December 21, the rivals tried to rely on speed and smart boxing.
"It was a very intense fight and a great way to end the year. Tyson Fury is still capable of many things. Am I interested in a trilogy? Of course. The first fight was very dramatic. The second fight showed us the high pace, quality of boxing, technique and strategy. They can fight 10 or 12 times, and all the fights will be close," said Suleiman.
As a reminder, all three judges of the Usyk vs. Fury 2 fight gave the victory to the Ukrainian boxer with a score of 116-112. In addition, it became known what result was recorded by artificial intelligence.
Former champion Anthony Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs) gave his version of the rounds. And the legendary Lenny Lewis admitted that he was not impressed with the fight.
This angered Tyson, who called himself the strongest with a difference of at least three rounds. The Briton also staged a demarche after the fight.
At the same time, impressive statistics of the opponents' punches in the fight were published. A photo showed what Fury's face looked like after 100 missed punches from Usyk.
After the victory, the Ukrainian boxer decided on his next opponent and also made a confession about the rematch with Tyson.
