The son of fugitive President Viktor Yanukovych has been granted the citizenship of the terrorist country of Russia. Kremlin propagandists claim that the change of citizenship of Oleksandr Yanukovych is confirmed by relevant documents.

The documents also state that Yanukovych's son is doing business in Russia. Russian propaganda media write about this.

The Kremlin's mouthpieces have stated that Oleksandr Yanukovych is doing business in Russia. According to documents, he registered a company in St. Petersburg 10 years ago.

The main activity of the company is the management of financial and industrial groups.

It is worth noting that back in 2022, the Council of the European Union imposed new sanctions against former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych and his son Oleksandr. The restrictions were imposed because of "their role in undermining or threatening the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine and the stability and security of the state."

The last time the EU ambassadors extended sanctions against Yanukovych and his son was on the eve of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, on February 23. Then the restrictions on Yanukovych himself were extended for only 6 months instead of the usual year.

As a reminder, Ukraine is going to nationalize assets worth more than UAH 100 million of the former head of security of fugitive President Viktor Yanukovych, Vyacheslav Zanevsky, who defected to the aggressor and is hiding in Russia.
