Worth the wait: the best new cars in 2025
The automotive market is constantly evolving, offering consumers more and more new and improved models. 2025 will be no exception, as we are expecting several interesting new products in different segments – from compact city electric vehicles to luxury SUVs.
Experts have named the most anticipated models that promise to become sales hits. These models represent a wide range of cars that will appear on the market in 2025, meeting the needs of different categories of buyers – from those looking for an economical city electric car to those who prefer luxury SUVs with high off-road performance.
BYD Dolphin Mini
The Chinese manufacturer BYD, known for its Seal and Dolphin electric cars, is preparing to launch another new product – the Dolphin Mini. This compact electric car will compete with the Dacia Spring, offering four seats and a range of up to 275 miles. However, the engine power (74 hp) provides acceleration to 62 mph in almost 15 seconds, which may be a disadvantage for some buyers. The expected price is from £16,000 (over 825 thousand UAH).
Dacia Bigster
The Dacia Bigster is a large family SUV that is larger than the Duster and will compete with the Kia Sportage. The car will be offered with two gasoline engines – a mild hybrid and a full hybrid with 155 hp – and will feature a large trunk and fuel economy (up to 50 miles per gallon). In the cabin, Dacia has abandoned excessive software in favor of simple and convenient physical controls. The expected price is from £25,000 (UAH 1.289 million).
Volkswagen ID.2
The Volkswagen ID.2 is positioned as an urban supermini, which is a kind of "homage" to the Golf, Polo, and Beetle. It will be a fast, inexpensive, and practical electric hatchback with front-wheel drive, a new 223 hp engine, and two battery options (38 kWh and 56 kWh) that provide a range of up to 280 miles. A GTI version is also planned. The interior will be equipped with a large 12.9-inch center touchscreen. The expected price is from £21,000.
Ford Puma Gen-E
An electric crossover with an impressive trunk. The electric version of the Ford Puma will compete with the Kia EV3 and Renault 5. The crossover, which will be produced in Romania, will have a 43 kWh battery with a range of up to 233 miles on the WLTP cycle and support for fast charging (10-80% in 23 minutes using a 100 kW charger). One of the main advantages of the model will be a large trunk with a capacity of up to 566 liters. The cabin will be equipped with a 12-inch touchscreen and a 12.8-inch digital display. The expected price is from £29,995 (over one million hryvnias).
Range Rover Electric
Jaguar Land Rover promises that the all-electric Range Rover will retain its off-road capabilities, not inferior to the gasoline version. The car will have a ford depth of 850 mm and a torque management system for each wheel. Acceleration to 62 mph will be 4.5 seconds, the claimed range is 300 miles, and thanks to the 800-volt electric architecture, charging will be fast. The expected price is from £104,000 (5.3 million UAH).
Renault 4 E-Tech
Following the success of the Renault 5, high hopes are pinned on the Renault 4 E-Tech, a larger and more practical electric compact SUV. The Comfort version will have a 150 hp engine and a 52 kWh battery pack, providing a range of up to 249 miles, while the cheaper Urban Range version will have a range of 186 miles. The car is aimed at urban use and will combine a smooth ride with good handling, as well as a "great retro interior" and an electronic voice assistant. The expected price is from £28,000 (UAH 1.4 million).
