Lomachenko and Cambosos to fight for the IBF title. Source: nine.com.au
On May 12, former three-weight world champion Vasyl Lomachenko (17-3, 11 KOs) will fight against Australian George Kambosos (21-2, 10 KOs). At stake in the Perth show will be the International Boxing Federation (IBF) belt, which the Ukrainian has never held.
Ukrainian broadcasters refused to show the fight. This is the second time the broadcasters have made such a decision. Now boxing fans from our country need to look for alternative options to watch the fight if they are interested in witnessing Lomachenko's return to the ring.
OBOZ.UA will broadcast the Lomachenko-Kambosos fight online. The approximate start is at 6:30 am Kyiv time.
The fight will be available on British TV channels Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Arena. Moreover, subscribers will be able to watch the broadcast from Perth for free. The American broadcaster ESPN+ will also broadcast the fight live from Australia.
In addition, the match will be available on the Kayo Sports streaming service. You don't even need to subscribe to the platform – the broadcast is offered on a pay-per-view basis.
Earlier, Cambosos shared his expectations for the fight with Lomachenko, promising to knock the Ukrainian's head off. And Russia demanded that the Ukrainian return his championship belts.
Vasyl and George were supposed to fight in the summer of 2022, but the Ukrainian refused because Russia invaded Ukraine. At the same time, the Australian recently got into a scandal by inviting a boxer from the Russian Federation who supports the war to his camp to prepare for the fight.
After it became known about the fight between Vasyl and George, the Ukrainian was excluded from several world rankings.
As OBOZ.UA previously reported, it became known that the unbeaten Russian Imam Khataev (6-0, 6 KOs), who hides behind the Australian flag, will perform in the warm-up for the Lomachenko-Kambosos fight.
