What could be better than spending warm summer mornings enjoying coffee in the garden? However, to ensure that your furniture stays in good condition for longer, you should take care of its proper placement in advance.

Tables, swings, and chairs quickly become dirty and less attractive due to regular exposure to the weather. Experts told us where it is better not to place furniture because there is a high risk that it will not last even one season.

Ali Woolridge, co-founder of Gardenesque, a garden furniture company, emphasized that it is better not to place tables and chairs directly on the lawn.

Such placement increases moisture exposure, which can quickly lead to rust and mold.

"This not only spoils your furniture on an aesthetic level but will also lead to destruction over time. Even the highest quality furniture will not be able to withstand prolonged exposure to dampness and moisture," explained Woolridge.

And it's not just about watering. Every morning, dew forms on the grass, so there is no way to avoid excess moisture unless you bring your inventory indoors every night.

Another disadvantage is the damage to the lawn itself. Placing furniture on it can minimize grass growth and potentially create "bald spots" on the green surface.

It is best to place garden furniture on the patio. A good option is to place it under trees and tall bushes – the only downside is that it may require more regular cleaning of leaves and debris.

You can also invest in high-quality protective covers to minimize the risk of surface damage.

Mold and moss can quickly appear on garden furniture. An effective solution is to use lemon juice. Just mix the juice with salt and clean the affected areas with a brush or sponge. Afterward, hose down the furniture to rinse off any sticky residue or salt particles.
