When will Chevrolet's inexpensive Nissan Leaf rival appear: the model is almost ready
The new Chevrolet Bolt for the 2026 model year will be an inexpensive electric vehicle to compete with the new Nissan Leaf. This is a long-awaited model. It has become known when it will appear, how much it will cost, and what buyers will get.
According to Carscoops, the new Chevrolet Bolt for the 2026 model year will be available at dealers in 2025. The model is currently available in two bodies: a five-door hatchback and a compact crossover. It was expected that only the Chevrolet Bolt EUV would remain in the lineup. But now it is reported that the Bolt name will be represented by several different cars.
Chevrolet's next-generation affordable electric vehicle will be produced at the American plant in Kansas City after the plant is modernized. The car will be equipped with a lithium-iron-phosphate battery (LFP). This will speed up the development of the car. For the same reason, it will be possible to reduce the cost of the battery, as well as the entire electric car.
Initially, GM planned to abandon the development of the next-generation model. However, the growing demand for Bolt showed that the market needs a new car. The projected price is less than $30,000.
Buyers will also get an even cheaper Chevrolet Bolt in the future. But the price of this car has not yet been announced.
