What to make from pita bread for a snack: we share a simple recipe
Pita bread is a very simple but very versatile product that can be the basis for making delicious tubes, casseroles, and pies. It can also be used to make delicious homemade chips.
The cook shared a recipe for a delicious pita bread dish with chicken and hard cheese on Instagram.
Ingredients:
- Round pita bread – 10 pieces (or cut into regular pita bread)
- Chicken fillet or thigh – 400 g
- Onion – 1 pc
- Salt, pepper – to taste
- Parsley – 1-2 tbsp
- Sour cream – 1 tbsp
- Eggs – 2-3 pcs
- Breadcrumbs – 150 g
- Hard cheese or mozzarella – 250 g
- Oil – 30 ml
Method of preparation:
1. Cut the meat into thin slices. Cut the onion into half rings. Fry the meat and onion in a frying pan, add salt and pepper. Fry for another 5-7 minutes. Put the cooked meat and onion in a bowl, add sour cream, and chopped parsley, then mix.
2. Spread the filling on the pita bread, add grated cheese, and roll it up, tucking the edges.
3. Dip each pita bread in beaten eggs and breadcrumbs. Sprinkle with grated cheese on top.
4. Put on a baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes at 200 C.
