What Hurricane Milton looks like from space: breathtaking photos

NASA astronaut Matthew Dominick has taken amazing photos of Hurricane Milton, which is approaching the United States. From the window of the Dragon Endeavour capsule, you can see the full power of the wind masses moving towards the Florida coast.

Due to this hurricane, the SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule with astronauts on boards cannot leave the International Space Station (ISS). Matthew Dominik shared his images and impressions of this powerful storm on his X page.

"We flew over Hurricane Milton about 90 minutes ago. Here is the view out the Dragon Endeavour window. Expect lots of images from this window as this is where I’m sleeping while we wait to undock and return to Earth," the NASA astronaut wrote.

According to NASA, in early March, the Dragon Endeavor capsule delivered Matthew Dominick to the orbiting laboratory along with three other astronauts.

The crew of the SpaceX Crew-8 mission was supposed to return to Earth on Monday, October 7, but Hurricane Milton interfered with the plans. The storm is moving through the Gulf of Mexico and may affect the waters of the planned landing zone of the space capsule.

As a result of the negotiations, NASA and SpaceX have postponed the planned undocking of Crew-8 to October 13 at the earliest.

The storm also forced NASA to abandon the scheduled October 10 launch of the $5 billion Europa Clipper mission from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
