Famous Ukrainian biathlete Vita Semerenko has been banned for a year for violating anti-doping rules, the National Anti-Doping Center of Ukraine (NADC) reports. The 38-year-old from Sumy missed three doping tests during the calendar year.

The period of disqualification of the Sochi 2014 Olympic champion in the relay will be calculated from the moment of her temporary suspension: from March 20, 2024.

Semerenko is a seven-time winner of world championships, winner and medalist of the World Cup in biathlon, and multiple European champion. At the XXIII World Winter Universiade, she won 4 medals (1 gold, 1 silver, 2 bronze).
