Olha GanyukovaNews

Despite the difficult conditions of war, most Ukrainians remain optimistic about the future of their country. 71% of citizens believe in the positive development of Ukraine, and 69% are convinced of the country's ability to defend its independence in the fight against Russian aggression.

This is evidenced by a sociological survey conducted by the "Rating" group. In general, Ukrainians express mostly positive emotions about their country.

68% of respondents feel hopeful, and 44% feel proud of their country. These figures reflect deep patriotism, despite all the challenges Ukraine is facing due to the war with Russia.

Residents of different regions of Ukraine are most positive about the comfort of living (75%), leisure (65%), and access to school and preschool education (63%).

However, there are also serious problems that concern people. The most negatively assessed are opportunities for young people (56% consider them insufficient), job search (51%), sense of security (51%), and salary level (48%).

Despite the difficulties, the vast majority of respondents (81%) do not plan to move from their region. However, among young people aged 18-29, about 40% expressed their intention to leave their region in the future, and 14% intend to move abroad.

The fight against corruption (50%) and economic prosperity (44%) are important factors of unity while growing corruption (58%) and economic decline (49%) are the main factors of disunity. Also, political elections (29%) and different experiences during the war (28%) can cause divisions in society. However, the majority of respondents believe that rebuilding the country (37%) is an important factor for uniting Ukrainians.

The vast majority of respondents (76%) express their readiness to participate in changes for the benefit of the country. The issues of fighting corruption (52%) and the course of the war (34%) are of the greatest interest to citizens. In particular, 79% of respondents are interested in the situation in the occupied territories, especially among residents of the frontline and border regions. However, 52% believe that the media do not provide enough information about life in these territories.

The survey was conducted by telephone interviews (CATI) between November 20 and December 4, 2024. It involved 2,000 respondents across the country, as well as an additional 3,600 people in 9 regions, including the frontline and border regions. The sampling error does not exceed 2.2%.

As OBOZ.UA wrote, a recent poll showed that about 70% of residents want to stay in Ukraine, even if the borders are opened to all categories of the population. 21% would like to leave, while 9% were undecided.
