Ukrainian tennis player climbed 380 places in the world rankings in a week
Ukrainian tennis player Anastasiia Lopata has made a fantastic breakthrough in the world rankings. The 19-year-old athlete, who is just starting her professional career, has soared by 380 positions in one week.
In the updated rankings of the Women's Tennis Association (WTA), the Ukrainian now ranks 735th, according to the organization's website. She has 41 points, 29 of which she earned thanks to a successful performance in Oklahoma. Here, our compatriot reached the semifinals, defeating the third-seeded opponent from Thailand.
The young tennis player earned just over $2.5 thousand in prize money for her performance.
Marta Kostiuk remains the country's first racket. She retained the 17th position. Elina Svitolina is seven positions down. The top three Ukrainians in the WTA rankings are rounded out by Diana Yastremska, who is ranked 36th.
It should be noted that our girls finished the season ahead of schedule and are now recuperating before the start of the new one. At the end of December, fans will be able to see them on Australian courts.
