Ivan Dorn to perform for Russians in Bali on New Year's Eve

Popular Ukrainian musician Ivan Dorn will perform at a New Year's Eve party in Bali. This news may sound okay but the artist will entertain, among others, the Russian audience for which he has worked for many years.

After 2014, the singer called the Russian aggression against Ukraine "a quarrel between older and younger brothers." After the full-scale invasion, he apologized for his words and admitted his past mistakes, finally calling Russia an enemy. However, as it became clear, this does not prevent Dorn from addressing the "good Russians". Blogger Bohdan Bespalov drew attention to the star's upcoming corporate event, which he described in a new video for his YouTube channel.

The New Year's party will take place at the luxurious Klapa Resort. The ticket price is currently 1,545,000 Indonesian rupiah, which is about 3,500 hryvnias. The event is open to everyone, including Ukrainians. However, the news of the upcoming concert was also spread in the Russian-speaking community in Bali, which consists mainly of "good" Russians.

It's worth noting that before 2022, Dorn's position was, as they say, "ambiguous." In particular, as we have already noted, he caused a scandal with his statements about the war in Donbas as he called the peoples of Ukraine and Russia "brotherly." He made this comment in an interview with Russian opposition blogger Yuri Dud in 2017.

Already in 2023 when the musician found himself at the epicenter of a new pro-Russian scandal, he decided to apologize for all his "sins" and unconscious position. Dorn recorded a video message in which he said, in particular, the following, "Yes, I am an imperfect Ukrainian. You know that... I recently watched Dud to find out how rude I really sound there. Yes, I do sound rude. It taught me a lot. So I apologize for that. I also apologize for the fact that I did it only after 5 years. If you look at the whole thing, the degree of hatred for me will be lower. I sincerely apologize. It probably took so much time to recognize, comprehend, and realize all this."

After February 24, his label Masterskaya closed its music catalog for Russia and Belarus, and Dorn himself was included in the list of artists banned from performing in Russia. However, the singer is in no hurry to return to Ukraine. He gives charity concerts in support of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Europe and America.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, Ukrainian singer and recently an Armed Forces serviceman Yurko Yurchenko sharply addressed his colleague Ivan Dorn after the release of his Independence Day track "Neskorena" in Ukrainian. According to the leader of the band "Yurkesh", singing is not enough to prove your love for your homeland.
