Ukraine's national team suffered a serious loss before the start of the Nations League
Dynamo Kyiv defender Denys Popov will not help the Ukrainian national team in the opening matches of the Nations League. Our team will start the tournament in Division 1 in matches against Albania on September 7 and the Czech Republic on September 10. Both meetings will take place in Prague, and the first of them will be nominally home for the blue and yellows.
According to TaToTake, Popov had back problems, which is why he missed the Premier League match in which Dynamo narrowly beat LNZ. The defender stayed in the capital of Ukraine to treat the injury. Another Kyiv player, Mykola Shaparenko, had problems with his calf muscle. However, he has already left for the Czech Republic with the national team.
Popov's absence is confirmed by a video posted by the Ukrainian Football Association (UAF) on its Telegram channel. Thus, four centerbacks remained in the application of the national team of Ukraine - Mykola Matvienko, Valery Bondar, Maksym Taloverov and Ilya Zabarny. It should be noted that Popov last played for the Blue and Yellows in July 2022.
