Lunin won the Champions League

Ukraine's goalkeeper Andrii Lunin will continue his career at Real Madrid, despite the scant chances of getting serious playing time. The agent of our compatriot Jorge Mendes held a meeting with the management of the "Royal Club", during which he confirmed that the 25-year-old goalkeeper will not leave the team this transfer window.

This is written by the portal Defensa Central. According to him, Mendes tried to employ Lunin in London's Chelsea and Liverpool, but they preferred other goalkeepers. It is still unknown whether the Ukrainian will extend his contract with Real Madrid or leave the club next summer as a free agent. If the goalkeeper gives up the idea of continuing his career in Madrid, he will be eligible to sign a contract with a new team in January.

It is known that Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti sees Thibaut Courtois as the first choice, promising him an untouchable place in the side in the Spanish league and Champions League. Lunin will be able to take the field in the national cup, where Madrid will start in early 2025.

We would like to remind you that Lunin played 31 matches in all competitions last season, in which he conceded 32 goals and scored zero goals in 12 games. He was especially memorable in the Champions League matches against Leipzig and Manchester City when he won a penalty shootout in the quarterfinals.
